Free means free. There's no trial period, no credit card, and no watermark added to anything you download or generate. We build these because we use them ourselves for our own SMS campaigns.
Do I need a TXTImpact account to use them?
No. Every tool on this page works without signing up. If you later want full SMS marketing features — sending, automation, list growth — that's where an account comes in, but it's never required just to use a free tool.
Is there a free SMS testing tool to check message length?
Yes — our Text & Segment Analyzer is a free SMS testing tool that shows character count and segment math as you type. SMS messages are billed in segments, not messages. A standard GSM-7 message fits 160 characters in one segment, but once a message needs a second segment, each part shrinks to 153 characters to make room for delivery headers. Using accented letters or emoji switches the whole message to Unicode encoding, which caps a single segment at 70 characters. The tool shows you this in real time so you're never surprised by a carrier bill.
